It’s a Thompson family reunion in Georgia.

On Monday, the Georgia Swarm announced a trade with Panther City, netting them Jeremy Thompson in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2023 Entry Draft.

That now puts Lyle, Miles and Jeremy Thompson on the same team for the first time in their National Lacrosse League careers. They played together in Major League Lacrosse for the Florida Launch in 2016.

They’ll face their other brother, Hiana, three times this season as a member of the Albany FireWolves, but all four Thompson brothers have now been members of the Swarm. Hiana played with Miles and Lyle from 2016-19, winning a championship in 2017.

Jeremy Thompson, the 2022 NLL Teammate of the Year, is a Syracuse graduate who has starred as a transition player and faceoff specialist in the NLL. In his 10 years in the NLL, Thompson ranks fourth all time in faceoff wins (1,995) and loose balls (1,502). He holds the league record in playoff faceoff wins (250).

During Panther City’s inaugural season, Thompson won 199 of 383 faceoffs (52 percent). He totaled 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) with 146 loose balls, 13 caused turnovers and three blocked shots.
