Dylan Molloy was an MLL All-Star last season, finishing the year with 41 goals and 18 assists.

Dylan Molloy, the former Tewaaraton winner from Brown, has found another role in professional lacrosse. Molloy, who was an All-Star with the now disbanded Florida Launch, will join the New York Lizards, according to a press release from the team Tuesday.

Molloy had been in the Premier Lacrosse League Player Pool until last week. PLL Head of Lacrosse Josh Sims announced Molloy's departure from the league on April 30.

Molloy finished last season as the MLL’s fourth-leading scorer, with 41 goals and 18 assists. Only Rob Pannell had more points among players that remain on MLL rosters.

The native of Setauket, N.Y. will join a Lizards team that features Pannell and Kevin Crowley. He said he’s looking forward to playing near his hometown once again.

“I’m very excited,” Molloy said in a press release.  “I’ve always loved playing in front of the Long Island crowd especially at Hofstra.  I was fortunate enough to play there for high school championships, once in college and then in the MLL.  Every time I go in there, it’s a thrill.  Having all of the Long Island fans as well as family there is really exciting.”

Molloy will play under former Denver Outlaws coach B.J. O’Hara, who moved to New York this offseason.

“As a college All-American and a Tewaaraton Award winner and MLL Rookie of the Year, Dylan Molloy has always brought tremendous skill, athleticism and will to win,” O’Hara said.  “Having him in a Lizards uniform will bring so much to our organization.  Kudos to General Manager Joe Spallina and our ownership for bringing him to the 2019 Lizards.”
