Epoch/USL High School Boys' Players of the Week (April 25)

Bryn Evans of St. Ignatius (Calif.) had six goals in an 11-10 win over then-No. 5 Chaminade.

The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’  and girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Make it Epoch

Kristopher Campbell, Longmeadow (Mass.)

Campbell, a senior attackman, totaled five goals and six assists in a 14-10 win over Amherst-Pelham (Mass.) last week. The Bentley recruit now has 15 goals and 19 assists in seven games this year. Longmeadow is off to a 6-1 start.

Also notable: Pat Hackler, Skaneateles (N.Y.); Chayse Ierlan, Victor (N.Y.); Ryan Sheehan, West Genesee (N.Y.);

— Will Cleveland

Jack Burnett, St. Mary’s Annapolis (Md.)

On Friday, the junior attackman raced around the net and fired home the lefty shot in overtime that gave the Saints a 10-9 upset of then-No. 9 St. Paul’s (Md.). Burnett also posted a goal and four assists  in a 9-8 win over Archbishop Spalding to start MIAA play April 18. The Johns Hopkins recruit has 15 goals and 24 assists for the season to help St. Mary’s to an 11-1 start.

Also notable: Colin Crowley, Delbarton (N.J.); Tim Forster, Oakton (Va.); Brendan Grimes, Boys’ Latin (Md.); Luke Stansfield, Penn Charter (Pa.); Quinn Willis, Moorestown (N.J.)

— Eric Detweiler

Carson Sorrells, Allatoon (Ga.)

The senior scored seven goals and added two assists in Allatoona’s 15-9 win over Westminster School, a rematch of last year’s Georgia 5A-1A state championship game. Sorrells has 56 goals and 24 assists this season and holds all of the program’s career scoring records with 182 career goals and 85 careers assists.

Also notable: Jack Charles, Whitefield Academy (Ga.); Payne Durham, Peachtree Ridge (Ga.); Garrett Hangartner, Wesleyan (Ga.); Jimmy Harrington, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.); Ben Hull, Kennesaw Mountain (Ga.); Peyton Kesselring, Buford (Ga.); Lukas Kott, Lake Highland Prep (Fla.); Dave Madril, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.); Nakeie Montgomery, Episcopal Dallas (Texas); Bryce Mumpower, Lake Mary (Fla.); Jack Ortolano, North Gwinnett (Ga.); J.R. Sess, Mount Paran Christian (Ga.); Rawley Smith, Wesleyan (Ga.)

— Aimee Ford Foster

Jack Kelly, Brother Rice (Mich).

Kelly helped Brother Rice pull off an incredible victory over Victor (N.Y.), which previously had a 50-game winning streak. Kelly’s offense provided the spark needed for Brother Rice to pull out the victory. Kelly, a midfielder for Brother Rice, committed to Georgetown in late 2016.

Also notable: Caleb Anderson, St. Xavier (Ohio); Hub Hejna, East Grand Rapids; Matt Schmidt, Culver Prep (Ind.)

— Justin Boggs

Bryn Evans, St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.)

The senior midfielder picked up his second Player of the Week nod this season after leading the Wildcats to a 2-1 finish last week on the East Coast in a stretch that included games against two teams in the national top 5. Overall, he had 10 goals, 12 groundballs and six caused turnovers, but it was his performance in an upset of then-No. 5 Chaminade (N.Y.) that put him over the top. He tallied six goals in the 11-10 win, besting his three-goal effort in a respectable loss to No. 1 Landon (Md.).

Also notable: John Bethel, Corona del Mar (Calif.); Griffin Gharrity, Cherry Creek (Colo.); Jonah Hirshom, Mountain Vista (Colo.); Brennan Moloney, Bellevue (Wash.)

— Laurel Pfahler
