US Lacrosse High School Boys' Players of the Week

It’s been quite the start for Ben Holland of Dublin Coffman (Ohio), who has 17 goals in three games.

The US Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Players of the Week from the Northeast will be announced once play begins in the region.

Michael Weisshaar, Archbishop Spalding (Md.)

Weisshaar helped Spalding to a big out-of-state win to highlight its 3-0 start. The Towson-committed junior midfielder may not be the biggest player, but he stood out with three goals and three assists in a 12-10 win over Pennsylvania power and Mid-Atlantic Preseason No. 4 Malvern Prep (Pa.) on March 20. Weisshaar also scored seven goals and added two assists to pace the offense as Spalding followed up with a 13-5 win over Severn on March 23.

Also notable: Shuey Kelly, Calvert Hall (Md.); Dom Pietramala, Boys’ Latin (Md.); Eric Spanos, Malvern Prep (Pa.)

Bryce Wojnovich, Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.)

Wojnovich, a Jacksonville recruit, led Cardinal Gibbons to a state championship last week and was named the state title MVP for his five-goal performance in the 14-5 win over Hough. The senior attackman also scored five times in an important playoff game against Middle Creek (N.C.). Wojnovich had 24 goals for the season and added 42 ground balls.

Also notable: George Kalos, Hough (N.C.); Andrew Atchison, Lassiter (Ga.); Max Sanderson, Jupiter (Fla.)
