Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Wednesday, Sept. 21

Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:

1. The NLL goes big with its largest-ever schedule.

The National Lacrosse League’s 36th season will be its largest, the indoor league announced Tuesday. Each team will play 18 games for a total of 135 games over 22 weeks. The action will get underway during Face-Off Weekend Dec. 2-3.

The league has expanded to 15 teams with the addition of the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.

All 135 games will air on ESPN+ and TSN’s platforms, including TSN.ca and the TSN app. Read more about the new slate here.

2. Kendyl Clarkson accepts Youngstown State women’s job.

Youngstown State announced Kendyl Clarkson as its second-ever head coach Tuesday. Clarkson has been a YSU assistant coach since July 2019, helping the Penguins finish 8-2 in MAC play and win a regular-season title in 2022.

Clarkson replaces her former boss, Theresa Walton, who departed for Old Dominion.

3. Dillon Ward is a champion for the second time in 90 days.

Someone get Dillon Ward a new trophy case. The Waterdogs goalie won a PLL championship over the weekend, but it wasn’t his first ring of the summer. Ward has previously won an NLL championship with the Colorado Mammoth. He took a breath and reflected on an unforgettable summer with Hutton Jackson.
