Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. USA Lacrosse Youth Nationals are off and running in Frederica, Del.

Players competing in the tournament saw their potential up close, as the U.S. men’s and women’s Sixes teams made an appearance and competing in exhibitions to cap a busy day of lacrosse. A record 82 girls’ teams, representing 16 states, are competing in the 13U, 14U and 15U age groupings at this year’s event.

The 13U, 14U and 15U quarterfinals will get underway this morning. Click here for the Tuesday recap.

2. The U.S. Women’s Sixes team put on a show at Nationals.

Led by veterans like Sam Apuzzo and Dempsey Arsenault, the U.S. women showcased the progress made during a three-day Sixes training. Plus, players participated in a one-of-a-kind autograph session.

3. Joe Beninati and Courtney Martinez Connor make up the Athletes Unlimited Broadcast team.

Athletes Unlimited made the announcement Tuesday.

The will make its debut in Boyds, Md. on July 19, featuring a non-traditional five-week season model and increased media exposure aimed at elevating the women’s lacrosse game.

4. Virginia-Maryland made the lacrosse season feel normal.

Nelson Rice writes about the Cavaliers’ second consecutive national championship, and how, just for one weekend, college lacrosse made the pandemic seem like a footnote.

5. Christina Gagnon missed out on two high school seasons before turning in a season worthy of USA Lacrosse National Player of the Year honors.

Gagnon, who tore her ACL in 2019 and missed 2020 amid the pandemic, returned to score 36 goals and add 24 assists to lead St. Paul’s (Md.) this season.
