Good morning. Here's the latest from the lacrosse world:

1. Cornell is ready for role changes in post-Piatelli era.

Cornell advanced to the national championship in 2022. But this fall, Cornell isn’t looking long-term. With leading scorer John Piatelli (66 G, 17 A) gone, head coach Connor Buczek will lean on a talented group of upperclassmen, including CJ Kirst, Michael Long and Hugh Kelleher to take the reigns.

Justin Feil has more on the Big Red’s fall outlook.

2. National Lacrosse Hall of Fame celebrates nine new members.

Nine lacrosse greats were enshrined in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in front of a sold-out crowd of 400 attendees. The class included three inductees honored for their playing careers (Sheehan Stanwick Burch, Ryan McClay and John Pirro), two for coaching (Tony Resch and Jenny Levy), one for officiating (Patty Daley), and three for other contributions (Beth Stone, Kris Snider and Steve Stenersen).

Paul Ohanian recapped the ceremony’s top moments and quotes.

3. Delaware State's Sydney Anderson to receive the Tina Sloan Green Award.

Delaware State junior Sydney Anderson will receive the Tina Sloan Green Award, the IWLCA announced in a press release. Created by the IWLCA’s board of directors in April of 2021, the Tina Sloan Green Award honors an individual or a team for their efforts to promote inclusion and diversity. It’s named for Tina Sloan Green, the first Black head coach in intercollegiate lacrosse history, who led Temple to three national title games.

Anderson was on the team bus when it was pulled over by Georgia police and subject to an unwarranted search and seizure. She documented her encounter in an article that made national news and rallied the lacrosse community.
