Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs rocks Rattlers jersey.
Travis Kelce and his velvet pants can take a seat. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs turned back the clock when he arrived for the team’s game against the New York Jets in a throwback Rochester Rattlers jersey. The Rattlers were an original six MLL franchise but not one the PLL chose to reinstate last week (Denver and Boston were). Whether Diggs was simply making a fashion statement or one about the “snub” is TBD. For now, you can enjoy the social media fodder.
2. Is this the year the Thunderbirds make a run?
Speaking of former Rochester teams, the Thunderbirds have looked every bit the contenders in the NLL since relocating from there. But it hasn’t materialized. Can Halifax make a run for a title this season? Jack Goods previews the year ahead.
3. National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association inducts new HOF class.
Ten coaches who amassed a combined 4,000 victories entered the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association (NILCA) Hall of Fame earlier this month. The accomplished class also won a combined 48 state crowns and too many conference crowns to count. Read more.
The Virginia men realized their 2024 schedule.
The Maverik Ascent Pro has an all-new Hex pocket designed to help players in any position level up and throw down.
Northwestern fell to UNC, 2-1, in the NCAA field hockey championship over the weekend. Lindsay Frank, a two-sport star and transfer from Richmond, started the game. In the spring, she’ll suit up for the defending national champion women’s lacrosse team. USA Lacrosse Magazine had the opportunity to catch up with Frank earlier this fall.
The Princeton men have the No. 1 recruiting class, according to Inside Lacrosse.
The sweetest video you’ll watch all day.
NLL previews continue this week with early projections on Las Vegas and New York.
