Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Joey Spallina’s star is rising long before he plays under the roof of the Carrier Dome.

The No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2022 signed an NIL deal with Gait Lacrosse, according to Inside Lacrosse. The four-year deal, which is expected to be announced next week, expires after Spallina’s junior season with Syracuse.

2. Xavier Arline is joining the two-sport athlete movement.

Arline, the Navy QB who played in 12 games for the Midshipmen the past two seasons, is joining the lacrosse team for the spring. He was added to the roster this week.

Arline was once a North Carolina lacrosse recruit but chose to seek football opportunities, which is how he landed in Annapolis.

More here.

3. A factory for leaders, Army is chock full of them in 2022.

Nineteen seniors has Joe Alberici excited for the prospect of competing. “The impact that this group will have will probably be the heaviest in my time,” he told Nelson Rice.

4. There isn’t much continuity in the Ivy League. But Princeton has plenty of it.

In a conference that hasn’t played a full season since 2019, Princeton is deep with experience up and down the field. Couple that with some added motivation in Chris Sailer’s 36th and final season on the sideline, and the Tigers could be ready to make noise.
