Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1.  Whipsnakes LC knocked off Archers LC 15-14 on a late goal by the underrated Jay Carlson to highlight the PLL’s July 4 weekend on Long Island, which included three nationally-televised games. The two-time champion Whipsnakes now lead the league with a 4-1 record.

Earlier in the weekend, Paul Rabil became the all-time leading scorer in professional outdoor lacrosse history, passing John Grant Jr.

Long Island native Jack Kelly came off the bench to help Redwoods LC beat Waterdogs LC 19-16, making five second half saves. It was the first game for Kelly since tearing his ACL playing for the U.S. team at the 2018 world championship.

2. Nelson Rice with a must-read on Kyle Harrison’s final game at Homewood Field last weekend.

3. LeMoyne’s latest NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse championship was inspired by the late Kaiden Tubbert.

4. Nicole Flores, an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Stanford last year, is the new head coach at Virginia Commonwealth.

5. Peter Toner, an assistant coach at Penn State and an assistant for the 2016 U.S. men’s U19 team, is the new head coach at Gettysburg.

6. Former high school player Wes Jackson rediscovered the sport and is helping to introduce new players through the Brooklyn Crescents. Brian Simpkins profiles Jackson through our partnership with Blaxer’s Blog.
