Meaghan Tyrrell's 397 career points are the most in Syracuse history. She surpassed Katie Rowan in a loss to Boston College.

It’s official: No one in Syracuse women’s lacrosse history has scored more points than Meaghan Tyrrell.

Tyrrell, the graduate attacker and 2022 Tewaaraton Award finalist, surpassed Katie Rowan as Syracuse’s all-time leading scorer Thursday in a 17-16 loss to Boston College at sold-out SU Soccer Stadium.

Tyrrell entered the game with 394 points and needed two to tie Rowan. She tied the mark with a first-quarter goal and got to 397 in the third quarter in fitting fashion, with an assist to her sister Emma Tyrrell.

From Mount Sinai, N.Y., Tyrrell has consistently been a force for the Orange, helping them to a national championship game appearance in 2021. She’s started all but one game in her career and is coming off back-to-back seasons in which she’s tallied at least 111 points.

With 89 points entering the ACC tournament (which begins April 23), Tyrrell could surpass her career-best mark of 112 points, which she set in 2021.

Syracuse will be the second seed, however, after its bid for an undefeated season ended Thursday. The Orange scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter and led by four going into the fourth quarter. BC rallied and scored twice in the final three minutes to win it. McKenna Davis scored the game-winner off a Belle Smith pass with 1:21 remaining. Ryan Smith came up with the ensuing draw to secure the victory.
