James Madison has won five straight games and completely turned around its season. Among others, Isabella Peterson is at the epicenter of JMU’s renewed national profile.

Last week — a 2-0 showing for the Dukes with CAA wins over Towson and Hofstra — the redshirt-sophomore attacker had 13 goals, three assists and 12 draw controls. The standout performance came against Hofstra, a 17-10 win in which she had eight goals, two assists and four draw controls.

Peterson is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women’s Player of the Week.

Peterson has been a force in 2022. She has a career-high 48 goals, a career-high 58 points and a career-high 58 draw controls through 12 games. She’s also shooting 55.8 percent, a testament to the consistent damage she can do with the ball in her stick.
