Maryland had a nearly eight-year long winning streak at College Park until Florida rolled into town on Saturday.

The Gators snapped Maryland’s 86-game home winning streak behind eight goals from junior Shannon Kavanagh — including the game-winner with 49 seconds remaining.

“She had herself a day,” Florida coach Amanda O’Leary told US Lacrosse Magazine contributor Justin Fitzgerald. “Eight goals against Maryland — there haven’t been to many people who have accomplished that.”

Kavanagh’s eight goals came on 13 shots. She also controlled five draws.
