Top Three Roll in Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20

Jacqueline Jahelka had five goals and three assists against Saint Michael's to keep No. 1 Adelphi atop the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Top 20.


No. 1 Adelphi, No. 2 Lindenwood and No. 3 Le Moyne rolled on in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Top 20, but NYIT dropped from the ranks of the unbeaten. Two newcomers join, while recent entrant Florida Tech has surged to No. 13.

Florida Tech (+2)

Eight Panthers scored in a 20-5 win over Concordia-St. Paul. Aleah Fjelstad led the way with four goals and two assists. The Panthers aim for their ninth straight win tonight as they welcome Colorado-Mesa.

NYIT (-6)

The Bears’ 8-7 home loss to unranked Bentley dropped them to No. 10. They corralled just six of 17 draw controls and were outshot 23-17 in the their first defeat of the season. They rebounded with two home wins and will travel to Southern New Hampshire Thursday for their first road game in nearly a month.

Shippensburg (-2)

The Raiders dropped their league home-opener to previously unranked Bloomsburg, 8-4, struggling to solve Huskies goalie Angela DiPasquale, who made 11 saves. Shippensburg continues PSAC play Tuesday at No. 20 Kutztown.

Bloomsburg

The Huskies enter thanks in part to an 8-4 road win over then-No. 18 Shippensburg Saturday. Five Huskies scored during the decisive first half, and Bloomsburg impressively led by as many as six goals in their PSAC win. Goalie Angela DiPasquale surrendered just two goals through the game’s first 53 minutes.

Kutztown

The unbeaten Bears have outscored their last three foes 51-14, but they’ll get a test Tuesday at home against Shippensburg. Makayla Bowman averages 4.5 goals per game for Kutztown.

OUT

Indiana (Pa.)

The Crimson Hawks’ started the season 0-2 before defeating Virginia-Wise, 18-2, Saturday. A week prior, IUP lost at Florida Tech, 16-12, before a 15-4 Wednesday defeat at Florida Southern.

Southern New Hampshire

Southern New Hampshire dropped its Northeast-10 opener at home to No. 19 Pace, 19-11. Then Penmen fell behind 5-0 and 12-6 at the half. They’ve got a rivalry game Wednesday at Saint Anselm.
