Princeton's Austin Sims Named Epoch Player of the Week

Austin Sims had a career-high six goals to help Princeton to an 18-7 win over previously unbeaten Johns Hopkins.


An 18-7 upset over previously unbeaten Johns Hopkins, not surprisingly, yielded a host of outstanding performances from the Princeton men's lacrosse team. Zach Currier won 15-of-19 faceoffs, collected 10 ground balls and added theree assists. Tyler Blaisdell made 16 saves in goal. But the nod for the Epoch/US Lacrosse Player of the Week goes to Princeton junior midfielder Austin Sims.

Sims set career highs with six goals and seven points to lead the Tigers to the victory. Sims, a co-captain on last year's U.S. U19 team, scored two goals in the opening four minutes of the game to set the tone for the Princeton offense. He then added three goals during a 10-goal run Princeton run that broke open a close game.
