Grant Ament keeps wheeling and dealing.
Ament, who sat out all of last season with a foot injury, piled up 17 assists in Penn State’s sweep of then-No. 2 Cornell and Jacksonville at the Crown Lacrosse Classic in Charlotte, N.C., earning Warrior/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.
It’s only March, but Ament, a redshirt junior attackman out of the Haverford School outside Philadelphia, already owns the Nittany Lions’ single-season assists record. He’s up to 46 on the season, averaging more than six per game.
Ament, who also has 10 goals this season, has overtaken Loyola’s Pat Spencer as the top scorer in the country.
The Warrior/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I men’s lacrosse throughout the season.
