James Madison senior attacker Kristen Gaudian tallied a career-best five goals in its 15-14 double overtime victory over then-No. 3 North Carolina, jumping the Dukes up nine spots to No. 8 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20.

Her performance earned her Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

Gaudian scored the game-tying goal with 1:26 remaining to force overtime. Then just 67 seconds into the second extra period, she found the back of the net with a bouncer for the game-winning score. Gaudian also added four draw controls.

James Madison’s win marked the first against the Tar Heels since Feb. 29, 2000, which ended their five-game win streak in the series.
