With Boston College’s back against the wall, reigning Tewaaraton Award winner Sam Apuzzo showed why she’s favored to repeat as the top player in college women’s lacrosse.

Apuzzo led BC back from a five-goal deficit, scoring five goals and assisting on another during a 9-1 Eagles run that turned the tide in a 14-12 win over Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. Apuzzo finished with seven goals, becoming BC’s all-time leader in the category, and two assists to earn Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

The Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by the US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I women’s lacrosse throughout the season.
