Donning the famed No. 22 for the first time in Syracuse orange, Chase Scanlan looked like he belonged.

The sophomore transfer scored seven goals in his debut — the most ever by a player making his ’Cuse debut — leading the Orange to a 21-14 win over Colgate in the Carrier Dome. He is the US Lacrosse Player of the Week for his effort.

Four of Scanlan’s seven goals came in the third quarter, a period during which Syracuse put some distance between itself and Colgate.

The 2019 second-team All-American transferred from Loyola and was given the No. 22 jersey, worn by the likes of some of the program’s all-time greats. He lived up to the hype.
