Ross Scott scored eight goals in a 19-9 win over Harvard — seven in the second half.

Ross Scott started just two games last season — largely a product of an experienced Rutgers squad that helped the Scarlet Knights return to the NCAA tournament for the first time in nearly two decades. Now one of the focal points of the offense, Scott has been nearly unstoppable.

After scoring nine goals in 2021, Scott scored eight in a first-round win over Harvard on Sunday. He did so on just 11 shots. For his performance in the 19-9 victory, Scott is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Player of the Week.

In a game that was close for about 35 minutes, Scott helped blow it open. With his side ahead 8-6, Scott scored three times in a 5-0 run that gave Rutgers considerable momentum. After Harvard scored twice to cut the deficit to 13-8, Rutgers went on a 6-0 run — and Scott scored four times in that stretch.
