Daly scored six goals in a 13-12 win over Penn State on Saturday.


Villanova needed everything it could get from Patrick Daly.

The senior attackman from Shrewsbury, Mass., scored six goals — including the game-winner — Saturday at Penn State, lifting the Wildcats to a 13-12 win. He was 6-for-8 on shots on goal and netted the winner with while Villanova was man up with exactly 1 minute remaining.

For his big performance and clutch play, Daly is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Player of the week.

Daly scored four first-half goals, but his final two tallies were the most crucial. Other than the winner, he put Villanova ahead 12-11 on a feed from Matt Campbell with 3:25 left to play.
