This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

BRENNAN ONEILL, DUKE

Not only did O’Neill propel Duke to a 16-14 win over Virginia and the No. 1 spot in this week’s Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 20 — he also might have solidified his case as a sure-fire Tewaaraton Award finalist (and favorite). The junior had six goals and three assists against UVA, a masterful performance the Blue Devils needed to bet the Cavaliers.

DIVISION II

MARK STRUNK, SETON HILL

Against Frostburg State, Strunk finished 20-for-30 at the X with 13 ground balls, one goal and one assist. He was also the critical player in a Seton Hill three-goal run that sent the game to overtime. He followed that performance up with a 14-for-25 day against Lake Erie, adding another goal for good measure.

DIVISION III

JACK BOYDEN, TUFTS

Boyden capped another huge week with 16 points, including 11 against Middlebury in the Jumbos’ 19-15 win. He currently has 83 points and has been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List because he’s outscoring entire teams by himself. It’s starting to get out of hand.
