Griffin McGinley is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men's Player of the Week

Griffin McGinley was nearly unbreakable on Saturday.

The sophomore from Philadelphia made 21 saves and picked up four ground balls as Mount St. Mary’s upset Navy 11-9 in Annapolis. He made three saves in the final four minutes to preserve the season-opening win for The Mount. McGinley is the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men’s Player of the Week for his performance.

McGinley made the first start of his career last February against Navy and made eight saves in an 8-5 loss. He made just two saves in his next start, an 11-5 loss to Towson.

In 2022, it looks like McGinley is ready to hit the ground running for a Mount team that suddenly has the lacrosse world’s attention.
