Joe Robertson, Duke’s junior attackman who led the team in scoring with 42 goals and 17 assists, will miss the 2020 season with a torn ACL, a team spokesperson confirmed to US Lacrosse Magazine. It is anticipated that he will redshirt, the spokesperson said.

Robertson will undergo surgery for the injury. Robertson did not play in Saturday’s season-opening 14-13 upset loss to Air Force.

The loss of Robertson is, of course, a major one for the Duke offense. In Robertson’s stead this weekend, Joey Manown led the team with five points (three goals). Cameron Badour (three goals), CJ Carpenter (two) and Reilly Walsh (two) also shouldered some of the scoring load. Freshman Dyson Williams took six shots and scored once.
