Connor Shellenberger tied a UVA NCAA tournament record with six goals in a single game.

Connor Shellenberger joined rarified air on Saturday.

The redshirt freshman at Virginia became just the third Cavaliers player to score six goals in an NCAA tournament game, joining Doug Knight (1995) and Mikey Herring (2019). Shellenberger also added an assist as Virginia thumped Georgetown in the only blowout of the NCAA quarterfinals this past weekend.

For his efforts, Shellenberger is the USA Lacrosse Division I Men’s Player of the Week.

Shellenberg now has 31 goals and 36 assists this season, leading UVA in points in his first season on the field.
